Manas turned my attention to this new service called Songza which is something similar to what Spotify / Lastfm is. But the best part about Songza is they require no signup’s. no downloads and they have an awesome interface done wholly in flash. They use cookie / some kind of tracking mechanism whereby they have the last song list that you played although you have not given any information (like sign up, login etc). Although this could spur one more round of “privacy bickering”, I think it is a damn cool service.

I feel a little more “closer” to Songza as they have very good collection of Indian music apart from the Western numbers. Probably that is making me a bit biased but I guess as an avid music listener I cannot ask for things better than Spotify & Songza to keep me entertained and on my toes every single day!

  1. Yes, songza is good. Dono if you’d observed closely, the back end is youtube… most prolly it should submit a query to youtube and retrieve results…the major pitfall is that it might carry off as a 2.0 scam if it is goin to look at youtube onli..if it can index other huge collections, should be a hit for sure.

  2. @Sriram – pretty true but they also have some other sources apart from youtube don’t they? But I think they are still doing a good job indexing youtube =). Hopefully they start negotiating with portals like mySpace and still retain the same UI without Ad’s.

  3. Hey I know some website better than Songza, this is http://www.deezer.com/en ! It’s better because it also has a very powerful music on demand service! It’s not just a radio system similar to Songza or Pandora! Just check it out!
